2023 Preset Pack
  • 2023 Preset Pack

This is my 2023 preset pack! Every year for the past 4 years, I've released a set of presets that I use for my own editing. They are inspired by a filmy/vintage aesthetic and as somebody who also shoots film, I spend a lot of time finessing these digital edits to ensure that they capture a similar essence.

Keep reading for information and download instructions-

This pack contains 20 presets- 4 black & white and 16 colour.  They've been tested on photos from a few different types of cameras but mostly DSLR and iPhone imagery. This pack includes 3 presets that are very subtle tweaks specifically designed for iPhone photos (but they look great on others too).

Upon purchasing, you will be given a link to download a zip folder. If you miss it on the intial purchase confirmation page or you accidentally close your browser, don't worry, it will also be emailed to you.
For the purpose of a smoother process and also in case you'd like to use these presets both on lightroom desktop AND mobile, this folder will contain the lightroom preset files for desktop installation and also .dng files for mobile.

    FOR MOBILE-
Once you've downloaded the folder, a little blue arrow should appear at the bottom of your browser screen, near the URL bar.

Click it to go to your downloads, select 2022 preset folder and choose to open it on your files on your phone.

Once the folder is in there, you can tap to decompress it and inside you will see a Desktop folder and a Mobile folder.

Go into Mobile, tap the icon in the top righthand corner, select each file and then using the icon in the bottom lefthand corner, choose to open them in the lightroom app.

Each preset tile should now import into your lightroom library.
One by one, go into each image (they will be blue squares, numbered with which preset they are), tap the icon in the top right and select "create preset". I suggest making a new folder for these so you can keep them all together and seperate from any other presets you might have.
Repeat for each preset tile and now you have the presets in your preset tab, ready to edit your future imagery in the free lightroom app.

    FOR DESKTOP-

Once the file has downloaded, open it in finder and decompress.

Depending on which lightroom app/version you prefer, there may be two different paths to installing the presets. For the traditional, desktop version, open lightroom and from the develop tab, create a new preset folder. Find this folder in your preset bar to the left of the screen, right click and select "import". Find the Desktop folder of presets and select.

For newer versions of lightroom like CC, the preset bar may be opened on the righthand side of the screen. Clicking the three dots icon in the top right of the preset pop up window, select import and locate the preset folder in your finder/downloads.

Now they should all be in lightroom, ready to use!

If you have any problems at all with installing or using these, please email me at alexbeckettphoto@gmail.com or DM me on instagram @alexbeckett_

Please note, due to the digital nature of this product, refunds are not available. Also remember that applying a preset is rarely where editing stops and additional tweaks may be necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Presets are a great base layer to your own customisations
